Dr. Andrew Lyle founded The Eye Institute of Utah in 1980 and built the practice into a leading provider of eye care in the Intermountain West. Dr. Lyle has been widely regarded as a foremost expert in cataract and laser vision correction and his skill and experience were recognized with numerous prestigious awards and honors throughout his career. Since his retirement in 2003, his commitment to excellence has continued to influence the high level of advanced care provided by the team at The Eye Institute of Utah.
Dr. Lyle graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He then completed a residency at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, followed by a fellowship in laser and retinal surgery. He was a prolific contributor to major ophthalmology journals and a frequent guest lecturer at national meetings of professional eye care associations. Dr. Lyle has also served as a faculty member at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital and the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
