COVID-19 Health Update

We are taking many precautions to ensure safety for both patients and our staff. Please reschedule your appointment if you are feeling unwell. Our staff are happy to wear a mask at your request to keep you safe.

The Eye Institute is open for elective patient care and surgery. We are taking many precautions to ensure safety for both patients and our staff.

Here are some of the things we are doing to ensure your safety when you visit The Eye Institute of Utah and The Surgicare Center of Utah:

  • We no longer require masks, but are happy to wear a mask at your request.
  • You will be asked about symptoms and your health history. If you are scheduled to have surgery, a nurse will call you several days before your procedure to conduct a virtual health assessment before confirming surgery. If you are sick, we are going to insist that you go home. We are asking this both of our own employees and our patients.
  • Everyone is practicing frequent and thorough 20-second hand washing & proper use of gloves when necessary.
  • Protective barriers in the exam rooms are installed to help prevent the spread of germs during your exam.
  • Hand sanitizers are located in multiple locations for your convenience.
  • In between every patient visit the exam rooms are thoroughly sanitized. In addition, all touched surfaces are sanitized throughout the day.
  • NOW AVAILABLE TELEHEALTH OPTIONS: If you have concerns about coming into the office, call and schedule a telehealth visit for anything that can be reviewed over the phone. Your insurance can be billed for these visits.

If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to call us at (801) 266-2283.
