Dr. Darcy H. Wolsey is a board-certified ophthalmologist, specializing in corneal disease, refractive and cataract surgery. Dr. Wolsey is the Director of LASIK Services at The Eye Institute of Utah, performing advanced refractive surgeries including all-laser LASIK, PRK, and refractive lens exchange. Dr. Wolsey treats patients with a variety of complex corneal conditions such as keratoconus, corneal dystrophies, pterygiums, and more – utilizing procedures such as PKP, DSEK, and INTACS for surgical treatment. She also performs standard and custom cataract surgery, offering patients an opportunity to reduce or eliminate their need for glasses and contact lenses with the use of advanced technology intraocular lens implants and surgical technology. Dr. Wolsey utilizes the latest laser technology with the WaveLight FS200 Femtosecond and EX500 Excimer lasers – the fastest refractive surgery platform in the U.S. She was also the first woman in the United States to perform custom cataract surgery using the LenSx® Femtosecond Laser.
In addition, Dr. Wolsey performs corneal-collagen crosslinking to treat keratoconus and offers clinical treatment for dry eye and external eye conditions. She is dedicated to clinical research and helping to advance technology and treatment options available for her patients. Dr. Wolsey regularly volunteers at the Maliheh Free Clinic, performing free eye exams to those in need. She has also worked in conjunction with Operation Sight to perform free eye surgery to local, low-income Utah residents in need of surgery.
Dr. Wolsey, a native of Salt Lake City, received a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and a masters degree in public health at the University of Utah. She graduated with her medical degree from the University of New Mexico in 2002. She completed her internship and residency in ophthalmology at the University of Utah’s Moran Eye Center followed by a one year fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery.
